    Denise Adams-Berg DVM
    Medical Director, Staff Veterinarian

Dr. Denise Adams was born and raised on a small family farm in the Midwest where she developed her love and appreciation for a wide variety of animals. After graduating high school, Dr. Adams moved to California where she pursued an English Literature degree at UC Berkeley. Throughout college, she continued to work with animals in both the shelter and clinic setting, but it was not until completing her liberal arts education and managing a veterinary clinic that she determined she wanted to become a veterinarian and dedicate her life’s work to the care of animals.

Dr. Adams obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 from the University of California, Davis where she graduated with honors and was awarded the California Veterinary Medical Association Award for Practice Excellence. Additionally, Dr. Adams completed the Canine Behavior Academy Level I Certification and was president of the Behavior Medicine Club at UC Davis.

Dr. Adams is passionate about supporting and informing the human-animal bond between pets and their caretakers. Animal behavior, soft tissue surgery, and dermatology are of particular interest to her. In 2017, Dr. Adams successfully completed the Fear-Free Certification Program in an effort to improve the experience each pet has while visiting the veterinary clinic.

Dr. Adams lives in Marin County with her husband, three small children, three dogs, one cat, and several fish. When she had leisure time, Dr. Adams enjoyed traveling, reading, running, and a good meal. She looks forward to enjoying these activities again in 20 years, but for now, she is content to take her kids to gymnastics, snuggle her dogs on the couch, and catch a few minutes of sleep before beginning another day practicing the world’s best profession.
